Thermal paper has 4 parts
1) The top layer is white. This is the layer your image will be transferred to.
2) The second layer is unbound and is a milky white. Usually this layer is thrown away.
3) In the third layer is the carbon (blue/purple paper). By pressing this layer, the purple/blue coating is transferred to the top sheet.
4) The fourth bottom sheet is yellow and holds the original in place when using a stencil copier.
